Why Adventure Travel?
We are Nigel and Sue, and we are passionate about adventure travel. Whether it’s hiking, mountain biking or kiteboarding, we just love the outdoors, and spending time in nature. All our lives we’ve been travel junkies and between us we’ve visited over 70 countries. Since 2013 we’ve visited 11 new countries together.
We met WAY back in the 90’s when we worked together for one of the world’s largest youth coach tour companies. However the universe had different plans for us, so we went off and lived separate lives. But fate stepped in! We met up for dinner to chat about adventure travel back in 2012 and we’ve been together ever since.
It was our shared love of travel and adventure that brought us together again, and it’s what really excites us now. We keep coming up with plans to keep travelling and having crazy adventures until, well, we simply can’t!
When the world went crazy in 2020 and we had to put our overseas travel plans on hold, we bought and converted a 4×4 Mercedes Sprinter van into our tiny home on wheels. Joining the “Vanlife Australia” community we’ve been exploring Australia since January 2021.
We believe that “Adventure has no Age Limit” and we hope to inspire you to get outside and live your own adventures. It doesn’t have to be packing up and moving into a van, it could just be taking a hike in your local bushland. Whatever! Nature is the great healer, both physically, mentally and spiritually
Why a Travel Blog?
I mean, aren’t there hundreds of travel blogs on the internet? Sure, there are! But what makes ours different (and hopefully your favourite!) is our focus on telling it like it is. We don’t just visit the tourist hot-spots and highlights. We also love getting off-the-beaten-path and finding those hidden gems you might not have even heard of!
We’ve been documenting out travels on our YouTube channel and Instagram for two years now. We have received so many questions about the places we visit, and about the features in our van. It just seemed a logical next step to start a written blog.
So whether you’re into adventure travel, hiking, mountain-biking, kitesurfing, vanlife, or just being an “armchair” adventure traveller, we hope you enjoy following along with our adventures.
