Europe Road Trip
Europe is an incredible place to explore by campervan or motorhome, with short driving distances, diverse landscapes, and a huge variety of cultures packed into a relatively small area. One day you’re in the mountains, the next you’re by the sea, often crossing into several different countries along the way.
We’ve been travelling Europe by campervan for almost two years now, navigating the Schengen 90 day rule along the way. So far we’ve visited around 15 of the 44 countries that make up Europe, but there’s still a LOT of this continent to see.

Travel Europe by Campervan, Motorhome or RV
We’ve travelled Europe almost every way you can imagine – trains, planes, hire cars, coach tours, even hitch-hiking! For us, travelling by campervan is the best way to tour Europe.
You can travel at your own pace, you’ll see places that aren’t on the regular tourist trail. You’ll meet more locals. You’ll see things that the tourist brochures don’t even mention. And it’s a great way to travel on a budget.
Where we’ve been in Europe
After arriving in Germany in June 2024 and buying our new campervan, in 2024 we visited Belgium, the UK, Switzerland (very briefly) and then spent three months in Italy.
In January of 2025 we took a ferry from Bari, Italy to Durres, Albania. We’ve spent all of 2025 in the Balkans, so far visiting Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, Bosnia & Hercegovina, Serbia and North Macedonia. We finished the year in Greece before heading back to Albania and Montenegro to sit out some Schengen time. Then, we spent late winter and early spring in Tunisia!
In 2026 we’ve spent more time in Italy (gosh we love it there), and then we spent a month in Germany, before heading to the UK & Ireland for some more time outside Schengen.
Where we’re going next?
We hope to spend the autumn in France, Spain and Portugal before spending the next winter in Morocco.
