If you’re planning to visit the UK, this United Kingdom travel guide has all the information you’ll need. Whether you’re flying into London, hiring a car and staying at small BnBs throughout the countryside, or, doing a longer UK Road Trip in a campervan or motorhome, there’s so much to see in the UK.
From the bustling capital of London, where you could spend weeks (or a lifetime) exploring all the history and culture, to small country villages where it seems time stands still. From the Scottish Highlands to the Cornish Coast, ruined castles, stone circles, green fields and friendly local pubs.
Mainland United Kingdom consists of three “countries”, England, Scotland and Wales, each with their own history and culture. English is the main language spoken here but even within those countries, there are regional accents, and often different words used.
We have spent a lot of time in the UK, Sue was born here, we both lived here in the 90s when we worked for a European coach tour company, and we’ve visited a couple of times in our campervan now. Since Brexit in 2018, the UK is out of the EU and our of the Schengen zone, so it is a great place to spend time doing the “Schengen Shuffle”.
Travelling the UK by campervan certainly isn’t as easy as some other European countries, but, we’ve always managed to find places to stay and services to support van life here. You just might have to look a little harder and pay a bit more!
The UK has so much to offer visitors, so don’t discount this fascinating country.
UK Road Trip Travel Guides
While often our time in the UK is more focussed on spending time with family, we’re planning to do more exploring here over the next couple of years, and adding more Travel Guides.
